PC Users

Step 1: Download "user.js" file to computer.
  1. Right click user.js link.
  2. Select "Save Link As..."
  3. Save user.js file onto the desktop.
  4. You should now see a "user.js" file on your desktop.

Step 2: Place "user.js" into the default folder.
  1. Close all Firefox browsers.
  2. Depending on what operating system you are using, please follow the path below and select the default folder.

    NOTE:
    If you do not see the Application Data folder after following the path, please follow the directions Application Data instructions at the bottom of this page.

    SELECTING THE DESTINATION (DEFAULT) FOLDER

    On WINDOWS Vista, the path is usually
    C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default\(PLACE FILE HERE)

    On WINDOWS XP/2000, the path is usually
    C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default\(PLACE FILE HERE)

  3. Place the "user.js" file into the default folder.


Application Data Folder - Follow these instructions ONLY if you do not see your Application Data folder in Step 2.

Your computer setting maybe hiding the Application Data folder. To unhide the folder, please follow the directions below.

  1. Click the Start menu at the bottom left hand side of your taskbar and access your Control Panel.
  2. Double-click "Folder Options" control panel.
  3. The Folder Options window will open. Click the View tab.
  4. In the Advanced settings section, select "Show hidden files and folder."
  5. Click OK.
  6. Follow the instructions for Step 2: Place "user.js" into the default folder.

Step 3: Check to see if the problem is fixed.
  1. Close all Firefox browsers.
  2. Launch Mozilla Firefox.
  3. Log into the course and scroll to the bottom of the page.
  4. On the blue Control Panel, click Detailed Index.
  5. Check the page you are having problems with.
